To X30 drivers, Clubs & Sponsors
With the situation changing rapidly with the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic & with State Government laws about closing borders and not allowing interstate competitors to compete, we have had to cancel the IAME SERIES AUSTRALIA planned this year.
As you may know, there have been cancellations or postponements of race events in Victoria which include the first 3 race events (Victorian Country Series R2, Victorian Kart Championship & Metro Series R2) & the uncertainty of when or if these race events will be run in the future, so at this time, we have sadly come to the decision to cancel the IAME Series for 2020.
However, if the currently postponed race events are re-scheduled to proceed at a later date this year, it is still a possibility the X30 Feature class may be offered but it may only be as one-off class events with no accumulation of points or prizes awarded.
REMO RACING would like to thank IAME Italy & sponsors who came onboard, Kartsport North America, Erebus Academy & RJ Garage doors.
REMO RACING & IAME Italy would like to say thankyou to the clubs from Cobden, Oakleigh, Geelong, Todd Rd & Puckapunyal for giving us the opportunity to hold these X30 events & most importantly to the X30 drivers who were very much looking forward to competing, we’ll be back.
STAY SAFE EVERYONE

Is it the full amount
So this is very last minute and under-prepared - but we are starting to make plans for a VCS iRacing event on March 29 in place of Cobden.
EDIT: Saturday 4:30pm Another 4hr iRacing test session is up with open wheel cars this time.
The password is "southwestround2"
We know we have many competitors who are online and should be able to form a very strong field.
Any person who has ever raced in the VCS, or pit crewed for the VCS is welcome to join. (ie: Past and present racers and connections)
We may need to find a new way for VCS commentary and streaming - if you have experience in this area please let us know.
The VCS coordinator is a iRacing veteran since 2008 - but a bit rusty in the last few years, so....
What shall our track be?
What shall our car be? (Should be have a challenge in multiple cars?)
Please PM if there anything else we need to know? (Given we are rusty...)This bad boy is gonna be working overtime over the next couple of months... iRacing Simworx Simulators - Serious Virtual Motorsport #simracing ... See MoreSee Less

Maybe Barry Ryan can chuck in a sim session as a major prize, and get some real drivers involved. Possibly get the guys that commentate Just Send It to help Andrew Hayes get a live stream going. Have to have some car around Bathurst. Never raced VCS before but can I still race?
I'd join in depending on when it's on.

A test session is now up at Philip Island We've added the Skippy, the Porsche 718, V8s and an Indycar We can then see which one is more popular At this stage we are thinking 2 or 3 races next Sunday (March 29) from 11:00am with a different car in each race.
Another test session is up with open wheel cars this time. The password is "southwestround2" We are trying to work out which car is popular that most people own (Apart from the V8) There is now an incident cap of 40x to discourage any monkey business We will create a separate Facebook page soon for VCS connections to register for next weekend so this doesn't clog up the VCS FB page.
Confirmed race details for this weekend Make sure you join the separate VCS iRacing group and register to race 360 Winged Sprintcar at Knoxville 35 Laps 20min practice 2 lap qualify Saturday 5:00pm AEST Dallara F3 at Philip Island 22 laps 20min practice 2 lap qualify Sunday 1:00pm AEST Supercars at Philip Island 25 laps 20min practice 2 lap qualify Pitstop required. Official updateCOVID-19 VIRUS UPDATE – ALL CLUBS
Effect on Victorian Competition 17 MARCH 2020
Please see below for important information from Karting Victoria regarding the latest response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
Circumstances continue to change daily and while we do not intend to overload you with information, we will provide you with updated information related to Karting as and when it is available and needed.
Our objectives are to ensure the health and safety of the Karting Victoria Community, while ensuring that the wheels keep spinning for our Clubs during this challenging period.
All the decisions outlined below have been made with primary consideration being given to the well-being and safety of all participants in our sport from volunteer officials, canteen staff, to competitors and their families, and spectators.
The Karting Victoria Executive has decided that no race meetings will be held in Victoria effective immediately until, June 1, 2020 - This date is subject to change pending the outcome of the crisis situation over the coming weeks.
Because the situation with the Covid-19 crisis is fluid we are hopeful that it may be possible to run May Club Day events despite these events being within the moratorium period advised above. Notification of a decision on that will be provided in time for clubs to apply for the necessary permits if that is the decision reached.
The upcoming Victorian Kart Championship, Metro Series, the next two rounds of the Victorian Country Series and the next round of the Golden Power Series have all been postponed.
Karting Victoria will develop a revised calendar for the remainder of 2020 once the full extent of the affect the COVID-19 crisis is further understood.
Karting Victoria is committed to running the Victorian Kart Championship on a suitable date later in the year.
It is the intention, that if possible, all rounds of the Victorian Country Series and Golden Power Series are also completed. Achieving this in a shorter period of time will require some significant alteration of events throughout the State and we will aim to minimise as many inconveniences as possible.
The Karting Victoria Executive, at the request of Karting Australia, is urgently reviewing the potential to run Kart Fun Sessions during this moratorium period in order to allow participation in this great sport we all enjoy to keep rolling.
If this is possible, such sessions will only be allowed to be conducted under very strict guidelines, in order to keep safe the participants, volunteers and spectators.
If Kart Fun Sessions can be accommodated, the guidelines imposed MUST be followed to the letter.
Regardless of the type and size of the event, the operation of all Clubs and on-track activities must respect and apply the COVID-19 virus control measures advised by Karting Australia on 16 March 2020.
Club Members are still able to also complete private practice sessions throughout this time, unless otherwise advised.
These are decisions that have not been taken lightly, but we believe they are necessary to reduce exposure to the virus and to keep all of our Victorian Karting Community safe.
We cannot stress enough that this is a fluid situation and it is highly likely that over the coming weeks and months there will be a reasonably significant number of communiqués from us, or Karting Australia, to the Karting Victoria Community.
Most, if not all of them, will come via email. Please make sure that your email program is set so that our emails come into your inbox and not your junk mail. I said earlier that we will only send the important messages.
Please, if you get a COVID-19 email from Karting Victoria, take the time to read it as it will be important!
Let’s All Do Our Part
We are currently facing a global health crisis and we require everyone to do their part and to not take unnecessary risks. If we all do our part, and don’t take any shortcuts, then the chances of our sport, and indeed the whole community, riding out this crisis ought to increase significantly.

Important Update: VCS Postponed, Victorian Clubdays Cancelled
Karting Victoria Karting Australia South West Kart Club
We apologise that it has taken so long to announce, but we can confirm that VCS Round 2 will be postponed indefinitely due to Covid-19.
We can advise that all Victorian Club Days this weekend will also be cancelled.(More information to follow)
This is an ever changing situation and we are going to exercise every bit of additional caution possible.
Even if an event was below the 500 limit:
- Our officials are in the 50-80 high risk group, and we cannot put them at any additional risk.
- There is a social aspect of the VCS - people eat out together and camp together- its not just on track activity
- VCS draws competitors from across the state and interstate which is more risk of spreading infection
- Competitors are likely to pull out with the crisis unfolding - meaning the event could be cancelled on low numbers later on.
- With the current supermarket panic it could make it very difficult to have competitors arriving in a small town and needing supplies
All pre-entries for Cobden will be refunded in due course. ... See MoreSee Less
