KA COVID-19 Virus Update to Karting Victoria and all Vic clubs Sept 17th

17 September 2020

Good Morning Everyone,

Following yesterday’s advice, the Victorian Government has published Restricted Activity Directions (Non- Melbourne) (No 5) overnight.

After assessing the various documents this morning, as a summary, it means the following for Clubs located in regional Victoria:

Social Karting Days

  • Can continue to operate under the COVIDSafe Supplementary Regulations.
  • Multiple Groups of 10 drivers permitted i.e. maximum number of Drivers on track at once is 10.
  • Only people residing in the non-restricted areas (e.g. regional Victoria) are able to be in attendance.
  • A Maximum of one mechanic per Driver attending.
  • Only the minimum number of Club Personnel and/or Officials required to conduct the Activity in attendance.
  • No use of the indoor facilities, other than change rooms and toilet facilities.
  • All other COVID requirements such as Social distancing, KA COVID Declaration etc. are required to be adhered to.

Club Competition

  • Can resume following the submission of COVIDSafe Supplementary Regulations to Karting Victoria.

In the simplest of terms, this basically means ONLY the people that are directly involved in participating (Drivers, Mechanics, Club Personnel and Officials) should be in attendance at the activities/events.

Expanded NSW/Victorian Border Region The NSW Government has this morning expanded the Victorian border region to incorporate a larger area.

This expansion of the border region now permits Victorian Licence holders in regions such as Shepparton, Wodonga, Echuca and Wangaratta with the appropriate permit to attend the NSW Kart Championship in Bega, NSW.

To check if you reside inside the border region please visit https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/border-zone-addresscheck

Further details on how to apply for a border permit can be found here https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/apply-covid-19-nsw-border-entry-permit

Entries for the September 25-27 event will now close at Midnight on Monday September 21.

Best Regards and Stay Safe
